philip xing 0 Posted November 16, 2001 Good but will be better if the whole photo is yellowish. Link to comment
asaf_cohen 0 Posted November 16, 2001 Impressive. Very nice colors. I would prefer a different composition - with more sky in the photo, but still - excellent work. Link to comment
alex_lau 0 Posted November 16, 2001 A good exercise with graduated filter, isn't it? I would prefer a little darker one, like a tobacco instead of the yellow one for the mood and I would move the filter up a little bit so the lower part of the sky is whiter and the house and the tree would not be colorized. As a matter of fact, I would not use the filter in the taking of the picture in the first place. I would render the color in Photoshop which gives me a lot more lattitude in this kind of manipulation. Link to comment
rivi 0 Posted November 16, 2001 Technically it's fine. The slight tilt to get the houses uncoulored gave you some yellow water, but that's not very disturbing. Frankly, however, I think the vision of yellow/tobacco skies has been overshooted and needs a break for a decade or so. I'd appreciate a much fresher style in such a scene. Link to comment
scott aitken 1 Posted November 16, 2001 No offence intended, but I really can't stand filters like this. It screams "FAKE!". I've never seen a sky that color. It looks totally unnatural. I don't mind the use of polarizers, split neutral density filters, warming filters, and the like. These can be used to enhance a photo or compensate for undesirable lighting conditions. But the end result, if used properly, is a natural looking image. If you intend an entirely artificial look, then this filter works fine, I suppose. I, personally, dont like this kind of filtration.
