It certainly is a pleasure seeing portraits of this quality. Lighting is spot on. The subtle, earthy colors are one of the biggest draws to this image. You captured a powerful expression of his demeanor. Being a "Rule of Thirds" freak, I would like to see, even if just a few pixels, a bit more to the right or a bit less on the left. But as it is, it's not so far removed from that compositional policy. But maybe that's just my addiction to the rule. :-) But your use of light, simple and subtle color scheme, even the setting makes this a powerful portrait, IMO. Masterfully executed.
