I submitted this same photo for critique, but this is a larger

version to make viewing easier. What do you think?

Interesting shot. Perhaps you should try moving over a little. But it all depends on the mood you want.

Personally, I feel like the leaves interfere with the beauty of the waterfall. It'd be nice not to have them right in the way. Just a little bit over would probably be nice.

Fairly sharp, although the light green leaves don't seem to be quite as sharp as would be appreciated.

I like the composition, and the rock on the right side add's a nice effect.

Good capture of the waterfall. I like the look!

Overall, this is a good shot!

Thanks for the perspective. I think I like the green leaves where they are as it adds a sense of place and depth to the photograph, although I understand about wanting to see all of the waterfall.

First thing i thought when I saw this beautiful photo was why didnt I think of this when shooting a waterfall? Thanks to your perspective, I could think different

Very nice image. While it would be nice to get rid of the leaves across the waterfall, what is "is." It would be nice if a lot things worked out perfectly. You could clone out the leaves or chop them down. I'm glad you left things as is and created a very pleasing photo.

Thanks for the continuing comments. This afternoon when I get home, I'll post another picture of this same waterfall taken from down by the waters' edge-- a little different perspective, but very similar to this framing (you can see it in my nature folder, but the original image is at home so I can't post it here yet). While I like that image, I much prefer this one because of the leaves. I like the complexity that they add, and the kind of odd framing. I remember being almost startled by a Sam Abell photograph where a tree cut right across the image and made for an interesting framing. I could have moved right a bit and put the bright leaves to the left of the waterfall, but it would have losts its feeling of depth. I think it would have also destroyed the interweaving of the elements. More comments are welcome! Thanks agin

On this one there's definetly missing something. I like the first one but i reallthink it would be better if the fall wasn't BEHIND the leaves entirely. I mean If you moved a little to the right (i already wrote this)

Aaron, My kind of location! Very nicely lit. Soft light was your friend as was the fact that it was also a very directional backlighting. Gives the light green leaves a translucent appearance. This is a location that deserves a return visit from you at various times of the year. I'm imagining the leaves turning yellow, orange, crimson, or a combo thereof. This one gives the viewer more of a sense of the place than does the one sans tree. The trunk, at least, is off to one side and the thin branches still allow a relatively undistorted view of the falls. As you appear to have done, I'd work this place over good, taking a variety of shots to cover most of the bases. Best, LM.
