I like the shot. Could you explain the trail - is this a meteor falling or trace of an aircraft (I opt for the second possibility) ? I ask because you state that the picture is unmanipulated and I see the stars are point-like, so I would expect the exposure was reasonably short (<30 s). Best regards, Peter

The light trail is that of an aircraft. I live very near to a small rural airport and their eastern approach so this plane was heading in for a landing. There is a second plane moving horizontally right @ the tree line as well. If you look @ the larger version you will also notice definite star drift as well.

I have updated the stats on the picture as well. It was a 30sec exposure.
