bruce wilson 0 Posted November 9, 2001 I like the shot I took, but it rather violates the rules of composition: the subject is almost exactly centered. Does it work, or is there a crop you might suggest that is more effective/powerful than this? Thanks. Link to comment
adrian_sanchez 0 Posted November 9, 2001 The image works, and that makes me forget about the composing rules. Good work. Link to comment
scott_laughlin 0 Posted November 9, 2001 Bruce, I think ignoring such rules is appropriate when the drama of the main subject is central to the photograph. In this case, the lighting on the building in contrast to the flood waters allows it to be centered. I did the highly technical cropping technics of a)using the slide bars to crop using the edge of my browser, and b)holding my hands over the screen. Leave it like it is, especially after viewing it larger. Link to comment
