A small church at the Varanger Fjord.

The picture is so tall that I can not get it onto my screen, which leads me to wonder if it could be cropped. Especially since the foreground is trashy, I recomment that some of it be cropped out. Aside from that criticism, you have a beautiful, sharp, colorful and peaceful scene. Regards, Wolf

It is a fair photo but I feel there is still some space for improvements. First of all - the message: I wonder whether it was meant to be possitive (quite nice piece of church architecture) or negative (a pond with ugly muddy and polluted bank). So what is this photo about? I believe the photographer should help others to understand his/her work by putting enough stress on components of importance in picture and suppressing those elements that may blur the focus. From the technical point of view, I believe there is unnecessarily too much of the sky - I think if cropped the photo will improve a lot. I also suggest you try to straighten all the verticals of the building - they are slightly tilted to the left - it should give the photo more stability. An approriately chosen frame may also help your presentation. Find bellow an example of what I mean and how it may look.

Sorry, it is not bellow, it is above. Also I made a white frame to the photo (black or grey would not be appropriate) which is not visible on the white background. Save it on your disk and have a look at it on different background. Regards. MJ

Morton, I like what Michal has done, but it does not account for the obvious trash that was discarded or washed up on the beach. If nothing else, I would go and clone out the distracting white and blue spots. I took the liberty to illustrate on Michal's version what I mean. This took less than 5 minutes. Regards, Wolf.

Wolf, of course your version looks much nicer, but I must come back to where I started my comment some time ago: what is this photo about? Is the garbage part of the mesage? Then it must remain where it is, like it or hate it. Is it the idillic church building? The garbage should go (but of course then the "photographic verity" of picture may by questioned by some viewers - the issue may have been solved nicely if the author had embarked on physical cleaning of the place prior to taking the photo: well, I am joking a bit).
