mcgarity 0 Posted June 12, 2005 This is not actually in Utah, but it doesn't miss it by much. Its in the Grand Junction area of Western Colorado not far from the state line. Link to comment
lauro1 0 Posted June 12, 2005 A great American picture. It reminds me of road movies and road writings, "Easy Rider", Kerouac, etc. I like this shot. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 13, 2005 Larry - were you up there over Memorial Day? I was up there then - on this very road :) I made it to Arches, missed Canyonlands, but had an absolutely fabulous day at Colorado Nat. Monument. If you haven't been there and don't have time for the full trek to Zion etc, then spend time in Grand Junction. You'll love it :) This picture is perfect as a gret American Road scene, love the sky and the billboards (pity you weren't on the other side of them) but the bright light and that darn sky make the buttes appear very flat - likely nothing you could have done to "fix" that, and it doesn't bother me in any event. Well done - looking forward to more shots of your trip :) Link to comment
mcgarity 0 Posted June 13, 2005 Unfortunately on Memorial Day I had to stick close to home. Didn't want to but I didn't have a choice. I have been aching to visit Arches and Canyonlands for quite a while. Same thing with the Colorado National Monument and Grand Junction. Problem is getting the time to do so. There just isn't enough of that commodity to go around. Link to comment
db1664878771 0 Posted June 13, 2005 What a gorgeous day! My family and I should be on that road in mid July. It's rare that we have time to stop and take photos though. So much road to conquer and so little time. Maybe this trip will be different? Nice image, Larry! db ~ Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 13, 2005 yeah, I haven't been able to take pictures of anything in two weeks - well, except for snapshots of the landscaping being done at my house, but that's not a PN kinda thing Link to comment
sallycd 0 Posted June 16, 2005 The clouds are fabulous on top of the plateau. Great scene and it looked serene too. Link to comment
mcgarity 0 Posted June 16, 2005 Thank you sir. Sometimes you can get some really interesting images if you keep your eyes peeled and are willing to stop. Its been my experience passengers are never very understanding about why you need to though. Link to comment
