Only Velvia could make a picture so green, I guess... No need for the horizon here: this sea of grass speaks for itself.

At least 3 different pictures you manage to incorporate in this

"painting" with the amazing DOF and colors.(You could crop a little from the bottom

for the black stripe to disappear.) Blago

You have many stunning images in your folder but this is the one that leapt out from your Showcase and swiped me across the face. And that's probably due to it not being a perfect reflection of a pink iced and marzipanned mountain. The photograph exudes clarity colour and composition. A magnificent piece of work. I only wish that bit of plant stem in the bottom right wasn't there. Pluck it out the ground next time.

looks just like a soft velvet blanket. the colour and the shadows...beautiful.

i have to agree though, that it might help to see just a hint of horizon in the picture. for some reason the group of purple flowers in the bottom left corner really bothers me. it feels like it should just be grass to ease the eye, and make it seem like the foreground is flowing into the background. with the texture of the picture, i really think you have to have that idea of soft movement instead of the more abrupt transition that is shown.

This could be a POW! I like the composition a lot! I also do not need the horizon! Velvia is great here again! You may crop 1 cm on the bottom ?

I love this shot, wonderful greens, curves and the touch of colouring in the flowers, one little nickpick, the black line at bottom, scanning problems?

I for one don't need to see the horizon either. In fact, if it was there, my eye would be drawn to it and away from the field, but it's in the field where I want to be. An infinite sea of grass and rolling green hills, as though we were inside the sphere of the world, instead of on top of it.

Beautiful clarity of color, sharp focus and of course the depth-of-field which goes on and on. One critic quipped at the stray plant stalk in the bottom right-hand corner. If the photographer wanted to re-compose to eliminate this - ok. But rip it out? With all respect, the plant deserves to live just as it is, without interference. That seems the "point" of this photograph, and of the entire portfolio (if I can presume that it has a certain ethical point of view). All of the photos are scenes of largely unspoiled nature. I think I can guess that the photographer loves the natural world, and wants to share that love (which his photos effectively do). Ripping the plant out to clean up his shot would fly in the face of his good work, I think. Let there be a stray plant or two. That's the way the world is, after all, and it's not a bad thing.

Even though your mountainscapes are beautiful, this picture shows that you don't need spectacular mountains to make a spectacular photograph. Some grassy hills and the odd wildflower will suffice, not mentioning your great eye.

Dick, this is an incredible shot. It reminds me of parts of Scotland in the spring. It also showcases your love of nature. Absolutely wonderful!!

Hm, somehow I can't help wanting to run over those hills like a small child and then roll over, lie down on my back and, still puffing, look up and feel completely happy. Well, enough daydreaming, gotto get to work again...
