Amazing, really a dangerous position to shoot in this spot. Man, talk about composition. (:P)

i wouldn't say the angle is dangerous but the reef lying beneath sure is, this is one of the most dangerous waves in the world...nice shot!

OK David, feeling allright (taking your pulse here for a moment) A FILM CAMERA!!! are you out of your mind!!!Don't you know that the all of the biggies on photo.net are using the latest digital stuff and this makes them automatically great? OK, I'm being cynical here. I shoot both digital and film. But I don't think a digital could pull this off right now. Really excellent, different and original image.

This one is my favourite of your amazing pictures. The pose, the wave and especially the small view to land makes it work that great for me.

Thanks for sharing!

My nose actually got the post-surf dribbles when I opened this puppy up. Wow. Now I just wanna roll me over that crystal lip ... and spin me 'round 'round, baby ... 'round 'round.

Your shots are fantastic. I find it difficult to reconcile the surfers downward angle in this shot. I like you other shots better - but this is still much better than anything I could come up with (even if I had the EQ).

Thanks for posting your shots.

Picture quality seems slightly inferior to your other posts. All else is really perfect here... although I'd prefer the same shot with a model wearing a mini-skirt on this surf board...:-)

What have you done!!! Now I'm on a quest here. Your camera is still popular and difficult to buy unless you fall into a bidding trap on evilbay. The lens is argggggh pricy. Since I swim like a brick, the likelihood of me EVER getting an image close to this is NOT likely. Please keep posting these images. I hope that folks will enjoy them like I am currently doing, perhaps inspire some younger folks to become "serious photographers"

David: Success! for a mere forty bucks I got a 630 complete with a camera bag and accessories! A bit more cash for a decent lens and I am ready...got to get a surfboard somewhere in Tucson...

Aloha David,

First i've always loved your photos. This photo is unreal, not at all a typical shot you would see in any surf mag. I have more of a question than a critique. I just got my first water housing and am having a hard time with focus. I shoot velvia 100 and set my fish eye to ten feet. I lick the dome and hold the camera out of the water before i shoot but my photos come back kinda blury. i don't feel like its the lense as much as the water on the lense. Any helpful hints?
