stevespencer 0 Posted June 1, 2005 Beautiful shot. Well focused, composed, interesting subject. Great oof bkgnd. I ran this through NeatImage to see what it would do with the (minimal) noise in the background (not that it really needs it - it's a very fine photo as it is). Nonetheless, what do you think? I liked that program so much I bough the commercial version (no, I don't work for them:). -s Link to comment

pawel_czapiewski1 0 Posted June 1, 2005 Good shooting Gaetan. imo it might benefit from reducing contrast a bit or maybe just making the background lighter. Regards, Link to comment

gaetanchevalier 5 Posted June 3, 2005 Thank you for your comment. I have not make PS work with this photo. I am not sure if reducing the contrast will help but I agree with you the background could be a little bit lighter to show more green coloration. Link to comment
gaetanchevalier 5 Posted June 3, 2005 It was only my second day with my new lens and starting to make serious bird photos. Yes the transition is not difficult. I am very happy with my purchase of the Canon 400mm f/5.6. Those photos are hand held with the help of a chair to make the work easier. Also I try to have nice bokeh and I think that my work in macro photos help. Link to comment
gaetanchevalier 5 Posted June 3, 2005 Yes those points (clarity, time of day, composition and dof) are very important for me. The Canon 400mm give sharp image at f/5.6 and I am working at 400 ISO those help a lot. Link to comment
