"High Mountain Desert in the Fall" Taken on a ski run near Carson City, Nevada

This photo was taken on the bottom of the ski run this month of

October. The lake is Washoe lake near Carson City, Nevada,

Elevation about ten thousand feet. The top is fourteen thousand

feet.

The moment is right, the colors are great but it is way too grainy. I have looked at a lot of your pics and this is not the norm for you. Usually you get great clarity. Was it a bad snap that was too good not to show? Peter

This caught my eye. Possibly because of the bright exciting fall colors in the foreground with the dark section of the slope separating the softer colors in the background.

Good depth given by the tree in the foreground. Gives a good perpective. Looks like a painting in the distance. Was this put through a filter to give it that effect?
