mcgarity 0 Posted May 26, 2005 I am not sure how to rate this. Its got good color and contrast but to be honest any rating at all would really be of the artist not the photographer. P.S. It is a nice painting. Wouldn't mind it hanging on my wall. Link to comment
renny 0 Posted May 27, 2005 It is a nice drawing isn't it! Of course, there is a story behind the picture. It was done by my sister and when I visited her I found she had tacked it on the wall and really didn't value it, hadn't even signed it. Unfortunately, she has treated several of her creations similarly and some of them are really quite good. I was determined to save as many as I could so dug out the camera. The journey did involve getting the film to the US from Milton Keynes, developed, scanned and then processed to bring it out. So, in a sense, it becomes something of a mutual creation! Here is a copy of the original photo of the picture... resized only. Link to comment
mcgarity 0 Posted May 27, 2005 Your sister has talent. This really is a nice painting. Makes me think of a french village. The processed image is much improved in contrast thats for sure. But its a rare image straight out of the camera that doesn't need a boost in my opinion. Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted May 28, 2005 I agree: very "wall-worthy". It's good that you're making the effort to preserve these; hope others in your family appreciate it, too. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 304 Posted May 2, 2008 I wish you did it yourself out of a rel photo! PDE Link to comment
