Guest Guest Posted May 30, 2005 Superb macro! You can count facets in its eyes! Great shot! Hans, I want to rate it 7/7, but I ran out of 7's for that day, so I won't rate it .... Kind regards :-) Link to comment
maurik 0 Posted June 23, 2005 Very very nice, fantastic, great depth of field! I would like to ask you, how do you overlay the 9 shots? Is this to get the depth of field so good? Must have used a really steady tripod to get this so sharp! Link to comment
hans imglueck 0 Posted June 24, 2005 Many thanks for your kind comments. Yes the overlay is to enlarge DOF. I do it with Jasc Paintshop using layers and masks (it is also necessary to adjust the image size to compensate for the different magnifications of the layers). I used no tripod but could lay the front of the lens on the rock where the fly was sitting. Using a small f stop gave me a fast shutter speed but also small DOF. I moved the lens back and forth and took several shots. Using small f stops gives also better results since beyond f11 the image quality will be reduced due to light bending. However this will matter only when one manages to keep the lens and camera steady enough to exclude motion blur. Best regards, Hans. Link to comment
mbh 0 Posted December 14, 2009 I'm always stunned by how much these macros reveal, the incredible sharpness of detail. Great job. Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 65 Posted December 14, 2009 Yes, well, we have all met these old greenbacks from time to time. . . . You have learned to master a very challenging lens--with great results. --Lannie Link to comment
markjordan 0 Posted February 26, 2010 One of the better macro shots I have seen here. Incredible detail and work involved getting this shot.. Link to comment
