My recommendation would be to adjust your composition. Having the pattern dead center in the image diminishes the potential impact of the pattern. Look up "The Rule of Thirds" and begin to experiment with your composition. I think you'll be suprised what a difference it can make. Oh and rules are meant to be broken... so don't hold to "The Rule of Thirds" all the time. :)
