pawel_czapiewski1 0 Posted May 19, 2005 Dzieki Bartek. Trzysetka bym nie pogardzil ale 2.8 bylo by za plytko to jest pelna wysokosc klatki, przyciete tylko troche z bokow. Link to comment

pawel_czapiewski1 0 Posted May 19, 2005 Jesli rzucisz okiem na poprzednie zdjecie, najblizszy dziob juz sie nie lapie a bylo f/5.6. Tutaj podbilem oczko w gore zeby objac wszystkich. Nie najlepsze warunki bo zasloniete od gory i musialem zaimprowizowac podwyzszenie dla statywu. Link to comment
ned1 0 Posted May 19, 2005 I don't normally like bird pictures, but I like this. There is real drama here. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted May 21, 2005 Pawel, that one is a much better catch than the previous one. what a moment ! Can you tell some technical details and what lens did you use?I don't read Polish.... Link to comment
pawel_czapiewski1 0 Posted May 21, 2005 Thanks Edward and Pnina. I managed to get a better view and ambient light was a bit better. There were only two left in the nest though. Bartek correctly assumed that it was shot with Canon. i never felt a need to buy a decent long glass and only recently i find myself using 1.4x extender more and more. This is 70-200 plus extender on 20D. Since in the previous shot the closest beak was OOF i bumped the aperture up a notch to f/11 (f/8 effective). Flash compensation -2/3. Basically i told Bartek that the previous one was shot with f/5.6 and about the difficulties with light and camera stand. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted May 21, 2005 Thanks Pawel, I'm going to look for an extender as well (1.4)..I use Sigma 70/300 with D 300 canon rebel, I hope I can do it.I want to shoot at the bird's migration season. Link to comment
abintraphoto 0 Posted May 21, 2005 Well you answered my question. My concern when I saw the other image was for the 3rd bird. 'Survival of the fittest' I suppose. Is there any way you could have the fill flash come from a side angle ? Link to comment
pawel_czapiewski1 0 Posted May 22, 2005 Thanks Ken. i gave it a thought but my bag contained only one flash, a standard off shoe cord, no stand etc. With clamps and remote one could put it somewhere in the tree. It might take a bit longer for the parents to get used to though. i whished that external could be triggered by on camera unit. If one looks close at the previous upload as you did third one is visibly weaker than the other two. (And we think about ouerselves as competitive). For a moment i thought about putting few photos together as a mini presentation but most of PN-etters seem to be fed up with birds now. Regards, Link to comment
kristin_morales 0 Posted May 23, 2005 fantastic bird shot....babies of any kind get my attention. Good use of the 1.4 extender. Link to comment
