Taken in the town Ostrava, Czech Republic.

Marvellous shot, colourful, nicely composed, very atmospheric. If I were to be very picky I think I'd prefer a bit of a lighter foreground and perhaps a slightly less vivid sky, but still, I'm very very impressed by this shot.

You need a split neutral dencity filter to reduce the difference in exposures required for foreground and background. Some burning and dodging might help as well.

I am not sure if using a split neutral dencity filter would be best solution in this case. This photo is based on the contrast between strong backlight and darker foreground. Using this filter might cause decreasing this contrast.

I am getting a rather bittersweet sense of this photo. The beauty of the sunrise light catching on the wafting vapors from...smokestacks. Quite a contrast. Reminds me of Kyiv and Moscow. An excellent photo that captures the good and the bad and "home" all in one.
