Taking In The View II

jimg

Glacier National Park 2002
Pictured is my best friend taking in the view of Mt. Siyeh.
On a technical note I finally rescanned this slide (Fuji Velvia) and took some of my own advice and properlly color corrected it. I've had a very difficult time getting this image to match the slide for the past couple of years. I think I've finally solved the puzzle so to speak.

the saturation is courtesy of Velvia. I've done nothing to the image other than to correct the scan to reflect the color as seen on the slide. During this trip I learned a valuable lesson to leave the polarizer off at high altitude. This is a tad over polarized, but I still enjoy the saturated color.. it actually isn't far from what was seen. the color of the lake was unreal looking... nearly identical to what is pictured. They sky could be a little less blue as stated.

nice shot. Good decision to include your friend, that definitely makes the composition better. I would desaturate the sky somewhat in PS.
