Hard direct sun

Don't what to say about this one. If this is what you were looking for then it's a great shot.

The glare kills it...you named the photo under that pretense so I am not sure what you wanted to accomplish or trying to say here?

It was my first try making my photo criticized.

A polarizer won't help this. You really need to avoid shooting directly into the sun. A polarizer works in the case of eliminating reflection from glass or water OR at a 90 degree angle from the sun it can change the color hue, providing deep blues and higher contrast.

It can be a great shot,just go back when the suns is not in front and take some shots,make sure to bracket for the foreground and the background and it should turn out nicely.
