I compared a lot and I too like the sepia version better. It adds to the retro-look. And again the dynamic between retro and the writing on the t-shirt. Like it the more I look at it. Kind regards Chris

had to upgrade my rating with the sepia in mind. After looking a lot, the only thing I can remark, I would have preferred a little more DOF that includes the total face, but thats just a minor remark. I can only repeat: I like it a lot. Chris (not sure if my english really expresses what I mean, perhaps should start to comment in german ;-))

Thank you Chris, I prefer the sepia version now also.

Here is a version with more grain for Maria. I don't like this version very much, but it is fun to do the comparison!

Nick.

Hi Nick,

actually I meant less grain.

The sepia family photos I have use to be sharp like today's colour, just sepia. Such with grain are the ones of me in 1977 ...

I will EMail you a link with an example.

write soon

Hello Nick.

Great portrait. I liked the pose you used, the angle ot the camera. Light and softness and very good. And her expression is very interesting, something like a sad smile.

Regards

Christian

Hi Nick,

EMailing did not work.

Above, a photo of a photo from the 1940s (1942 if I am not wrong) of my grandmother. If you want the link to more, there is another EMail than my photo.net one written on my webpage - I'd rather not publicly link the folder with family photos.

Maybe it is visible that grain is normal. The photos in B&W btw, the sepia tone comes from photographing inside without flash but with ISO400 film.

This one I used for the seminar work with the rediscovered space, the one in my scenography photo folder - it was one of the items hidden in sand.

regards

Maria
