Excellent. I normally don't like the horizon through the middle, but in this case the detail with the clouds and the starfish it seems to work. 6/6

Lovely composition! the dark grey and blue tones really make the contrast with the sea star, great and dramatic sky makes the image work so well.. maybe a wider lense from a little higher point would enhance that fantastic and colorfull subject, Nice work indeed!

awesome. Is the star fish some sort of a post addition ? Nonetheless i like it. Esp the looming clouds.

for all the great comments.

Derrald..I felt the same as you on the horizon placement but after viewing several pics with the star and horizon placed at different points I liked this one best. You have to break a few rules once in awhile :)

Ferrando..this photo was taken using the stock lens on my Canon 300D. The 35mm eq would be 28mm. I took it with a 19mm on my Canon Elan but the wider lens lost the detail in the horizon it seemed.

Nabarun..the star was not added in post processing. Contrast and color levels were adjusted in PhotoShop.

Thanks again for all your kind comments. Regards, Guy.

First of all you choose an perfect angle to obtain an excelent perspective of whole landscape! Then the colors and light are really great! Great photo, and great work here!

Best wishes!

Guy, this is lovely! The cool elements work very well with the warm coloured starfish. I think the mid-placed horizon works because the image is visually split into thirds with the light and dark areas, and the placement of the starfish to the extreme left holds the viewer's attention. It's a very peaceful shot.

Guy- super image. It's not easy to place the horizon directly in the middle of the image & make it work, but you have accomplished this. I like everything about this image. It makes me feel like ducking my head & joining the starfish by lying flat on the beach. Nice job!
