mike_van_der_heyden 0 Posted May 10, 2005 Comments welcome and encouraged... I'm thinking of cropping part of the left side of the image but I like the bush and the line of the hill going behind... plus I don't want to lose too many of those clouds... any opinions? Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 10, 2005 Don't crop it -- doing so will place the church more in the center which is less dynamic, plus you'll lose clouds, and alter the aspect. Looks to have been taken at mid-day which makes the light rather harsh. If you can, try this again in early morning or later afternoon which might add a little more dimension. Also - your image is tilted slightly to the right (which isn't a big problem for me actually) Very nicely done :) Link to comment
mike_van_der_heyden 0 Posted May 10, 2005 Thank you for taking the time... I have shot this church a number of times but it's not often I get clouds like these and as for the tilt... I find it adds a little tension to the photo... being too level is a bit like being too centered... rule of thirds but in three dimensions... Link to comment
acontadini 0 Posted May 10, 2005 good exposure and light... the church is inclined to the right or the camera to the left? Link to comment
jim.henderson 1 Posted May 10, 2005 I agree with Kathy here Mike, and I really like this. I actually think the harsh light helps though. it brings out the texture of the wood panels. Very nice. Link to comment
niklas_fred 0 Posted May 10, 2005 Great looking sky. The weathered buildings are great looking too. Maybe a little closer and lower to get rid of the empty foreground? Link to comment
paolonigris 0 Posted May 10, 2005 Good classic B&W photography. Very nice. (if you can correct the tilt)6/6 Link to comment
_patrick 0 Posted May 12, 2005 The clouds in the background give the picture a dramatic touch. I like the lighting a lot. Great picture! Link to comment
