isaac madera 1 Posted May 9, 2005 I would like to see this image with a little more contrast. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted May 9, 2005 I do like this a lot. I would have to agree with above comment about contrast. I know this is meant to be a subtle image but as it is I feel it is just a bit too subtle. Well done though! Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted May 9, 2005 I'm not so sure about the contrast. I think we'd need to see two versions side by side to make a decision, which would be driven by personal taste any way. Link to comment
randy_becker1 0 Posted May 9, 2005 I think the contrast and resulting effect is spot on! Very well done. Randy Link to comment

paulus 0 Posted May 9, 2005 Valery, Beautiful shot. However I think there is actually too much contrast. The front side of the model is very light, and the side facing the camera is relative dark, resulting in a strong line over her face. If you have the change to retake the photo my advice is to try give more light from the direction of the camera, so that the whole photo can be a bit softer, while still keeping the beautiful high key! diveniks 0 Posted May 10, 2005 Nuts to the critics. This is outstanding. Me thinks the "contrasters" probably couldn't shoot something this cool...ever! Keep up the good works!!! Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted May 10, 2005 Certainly this is very good and everyone is entitled to their opinion. I am sure some of the contrasters have tackled something similar. I know I have twice with this and this. Link to comment
instyle27 0 Posted May 15, 2005 I agree I should leave more contrast;the only reason to dissolve the image is to make the model feel a little more confident, less recognizable.Thank you all for comments; I feel like just started again real photography after 9 years of boring wedding routine. jonathancharlesphoto 2 Posted May 26, 2005 It's a beautiful shot but I think even high-key photos benefit from having small shadow areas which are quite dark, if only to emphasise the lightness of the rest. I understand your reason about the model and you can keep the face quite abstract by increasing the contrast in both directions (shadows darker, highlights lighter) for this area. I hope you don't mind if I show what I mean... Link to comment

photograferdave 0 Posted June 16, 2005 I am new to this technique of photography and I would greatly appreciate it if you'd let me know how you photographed this image. I would like to do experiment a little with this technique. Thank You, David Johnson Link to comment
flyingdoc 0 Posted June 14, 2006 Wonderful photo. I wonder if cropping the image detracts from it - as with this sort of HK photo, it is often what's missing that gives shape to what can be seen. Link to comment
