But everyone can fill up this empty place in thought, for maybe two minutes, on his own way!

Fantastic light and mood. Lannie's right (I think) about leaving the bench empty, and Wim's point about the viewer mentally filling it in, or even stepping into the frame and sitting a while, is well made. Thanks from an American vet (though not from that war).

Ik was in maart toevalig in de buurt daar en heb Margraten bezocht. Mooi is het woord niet, maar wel indrukwekkend. Zo ook deze foto. Nog geen blaadjes aan de bomen. Deze foto heb ik gemist, maar je hebt me wel geinspireerd om weer eens wast met mijn Margratenfoto's te doen. Wie weet komen ze op PN.

 

Maar deze zijn weer bijzonder.

Toevallig dat jij hier ook was dit jaar. Ik ken niet zoveel mensen die Margraten bezocht hebben. Voor mij was het ook de eerste keer en het was inderdaad indrukwekkend. Heel soberen en vredig, maar... nou ja, met deze foto heb ik willen uitdrukken dat het allemaal niet zo vredig is als het lijkt. Ik hoop dat jij ook wat met je foto's doet Bram. Zet ze op PN. Het wordt zoals je ziet erg gewaardeerd.

Doet me even denken aan een altaar met altaarstuk, maar het is dus meer een offertafel. Vervelende mensen toch , die opperhoofden met hun niets ontziende machtswellust, bovendien bijna allemaal mannen.

Spannend beeld dat net niet symetrische en de kleur ook, dramatische sfeer

Dit is mijn eerste keer dat ik op photo.net ben.

En ik kom al gelijk een zeer indrukwekkende foto tegen van een Nederlander.

Wat een foto !!!

Werkelijk alles klopt op deze foto....

Ik heb zelf ook foto's gemaakt op Margraten maar nooit zoiets moois als deze foto.

Ik ga ook je andere foto's bekijken.

Dank je wel voor je compliment. Ik ben er echt door gevleid. Leuk trouwens om weer een nieuwe Nederlander binnen de club te hebben. Het communiceert ten eerste wat gemakkelijker en ten tweede vind ik het altijd wel fijn als, zoals in deze situatie van Margraten, mensen persoonlijk op de plek zijn geweest waar de foto gemaakt is. Zoals ook jij, kijk je dan toch anders tegen het uiteindelijk resultaat aan.

 

De originele foto is ook mooi, maar straalt niet veel emotie uit. Nou ja je kent de plek. Het is een goed onderhouden, mooi aangelegde begraafplaats, daar niet van, maar om echt indrukwekkende foto's te maken moet je denk ik toch naar een oud Engels kerkhof gaan of naar de Joodse Begraafplaats in Praag. En lukt dat niet dan moet je een beroep doen op je fantasie en op PS. In dat laatste ben ik geen ster. Ik fotografeer pas sinds een jaar en moet nog heel veel leren. Dat kun je ook wel zien als je mijn portfolio bekijkt:)

 

Ik ben heel blij met je commentaar en hoop je nog vaak tegen te komen op PN.

Impressive view. It's wonderful that you shared this with all those that have a connection in some way.

Thank you very much for your appreciaton of this picture. When I took this shot I had not the intention to present it on PN in this manner. The only pretention I had was to give people an idea of how this war cemetry is constructed and how well it is prepaired.

But while I was watching more intensive the original shot on my computer screen I actually realised which an impact this view has and I decided to put my personal emotions and views in it. It is a good thing to notice that this picture formed and still forms a cause to share personal views and experiences.
