The colors attracted me. A nice arrangement of Asia wares displayed at a street festival this weekend. The 'Ham and Yam' festival is an annual event in Smithfield NC.

Now do you mean ham as in swine or as in Ham radio? You can never assume here in the south as both are equally celebrated.

Leann, that is Ham as in Swine. As I am sure you know, there are lots of hog farms in this part of the state. I missed the big Hog parade (hogs as in Harleys) but did get a pic of the rain guage. The past 3 years it has rained on the Ham and Yam Fest.

Next weekend I will be traveling to Rochester NY (our oldest is being commissioned into the Navy and graduating from Rochester Inst. of Technology) I will be attending the Lilac Festival up there. Should smell a little better than the Ham & Yam fest. Also hope to visit the Eastman House. Yeah, that is Eastman as in Eastman Kodak. Planning a trip to Sonneberg Gardens, Finger Lakes Wine Region, and Niagara Falls too. I only hope I have enough media cards to get all the photos I want!

I think this is a wonderful picture. I am currently a student, and part of my art project is using the art of other artists to influence my work. I was wondering whether you would mind if i could use your photograph in my art project, of course acknowledging yourself as the artist, as it would really aid my studies and relate well to me project so far.
