Superb. First-rate street portrait. The background works perfectly to place him in his native context. Your composition is perfect. And yes, you must shoot first and ask questions later -- if you smile or talk first, he will agree to a photo, but take off the hat and stand at attention for a "formal" photograph.

Thanks Chris; you are right that you have to just grab the moment or you may not get a good shot. I also respect the subject and normally we both smile and leave on good terms. In Asia they are especially nice.
