a-man 0 Posted October 24, 2001 WOW WHAT LIGHTING AND COLOR. It looks like last light right before a storm.. You caught it just right Awesome photography.....Truly mastered..... Take a look at some of mine if you would and rate them as I will look at as much of yours as I can this week and I will rate them also thanks for posting this award winner........ Link to comment
paul_chiu 0 Posted October 25, 2001 Reminds me of a Tommy Hilfiger or Ralph Lauren ad. Could use some color correction in Photoshop though. The ranch hand looks like she's been drinking for all her life and is now dying of liver cirrhosis, i.e., get rid of the yellow in her skin. Link to comment
jersey_emt 0 Posted October 26, 2001 Almost looks a bit fake. Where is the shadow of the horse and rider? Was this photo doctored in any way? Link to comment
Robert W. Pillow 19 Posted October 27, 2001 Nice light. Composition could be improved if the horse's front hooves were in the image. Link to comment
jwink3101 0 Posted November 16, 2001 The colors are amazing. The image ahs a warm tone to it. The colors are vibrant and defined very well. I h=gave it a 10-10. Great Job. Will you take the time to critique some of my photos. Thanks. My Photos Link to comment
steviewander 0 Posted November 28, 2001 I took this photo during a travel photography workshop in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The light had been flat most of the day and then suddenly the sun broke through the clouds. You should have seen everyone going for their gear! Link to comment
hkbmac 0 Posted November 28, 2001 This is truly a gorgeous photo. The color is near perfect, the lighting is beautiful, the pose ofthe horse and rider are great. But you cut the horses front feet off :( Great pic though. good work. Link to comment
kelvin_chao 0 Posted November 28, 2001 generally agree with the above. could improve the photo by cropping the horse on the left. Link to comment
philmorris 0 Posted November 28, 2001 Great photograph brought to life by all that warm warm lighting amid a storm. It's just a pity you couldn't have stepped back a little to include all four feet on the horse. May be you'd have trodden on someone's elses feet doing that though? Any 81 series filters used here? kevin_kolosky 2 Posted November 29, 2001 this phenomenon is referred to as squall light. your photograph is nice. However, where this type of light is absolutely gorgeous is in black and white photogaphs where you have white buildings against that dark sky. Your photograph looks a little blurry to me. steviewander 0 Posted November 30, 2001 Thanks everyone for taking the time to comment. I do agree on the composition; I wish I had lowered the camera to include the hooves and moved to the left a bit to include the other rider. Oh well. On a techincal note: the light WAS that spectacular, but I did use a Lumiquest pocket bouncer with gold reflector on the foreground subject at about -2 stops on the flash. Link to comment
rienk_jiskoot 0 Posted April 2, 2002 Beautiful picture, pity the legs are missing. I don't agree with your opinion about the other rider. I would have liked it more without a second horse/rider. But, as said, quite a spectacular portrait. Bye, Rienk Link to comment
