A mosaic of 6 frames of the moon on the 21st of April 2005 made inthe prime focus of a 40cm f/10 Cassegrain telescope. A higherresolution version is available http://users.skynet.be/vangorp/photos/2005_04_21-mosaic_2000.jpg">here. Thank you for looking and for any comments you'd like to make.

are you sure this is 40cm? so this is 400mm right? or is it 4000mm .. 400cm ?? or ... I cannot calculate! I took one too, with my 135mm and a 2x teleconverter which makes a 135x2x1.5=405mm for the D70, so .. equal your telescope? but mine is not to compare with the result you got ..

thanks for sharing .. amazing picture ;-)

The telescope has 40cm diameter and a focal ratio f/10, thus 4000mm focal distance. It should be possible to obtain higher resolution images but atmospheric turbulence was quite bad that evening. I like your photo, nice result!

It's even easier, there already is a picture of the telescope available on the net :-) On the website of Public Observatory Urania, of which I am a member. There are two telescopes in the image, the large black/grey one was used to produce this image, the little one on top was used to do the image of Orion.

Thanks. You might want to check out Technical Details :) Basicly I used a telescope with a 4000mm focal distance and took 6 exposures to make a mosaic.
