bens 0 Posted May 5, 2005 Adele, i share your enthusiasm for pretty flowers out in the world, and often try to photograph them while walking my dog. This one, it doesn't work for me, like many of my own. The light is too harsh to do such delicate coloring justice. The pov, because it is not unusual, is hard to capture interest on a site with many flower photos. All I can suggest is never quit! One out of about a hundred of mine I find worthwhile. Try whenever possible to show the flower in a way not usually seen before. You cvan do that with an interesting point of view in the shot (play with angles, how low or high you are, different focal lengths, etc.), and with adjustments in photoshop in contrast and colors. Try shooting on one end of the day or the other to get a softer light. Its all just trial and error. Don't let the ratings get you down. Link to comment
RobbW 0 Posted May 5, 2005 The focus is rather soft and the color is slightly dull. I don't know if it is the lighting or the exposure settings. You might try bumping up the color saturation in Photoshop and apply some sharpening. On the other hand, a soft image like this could look really good if you apply some type of "ethereal glow" filter to it. Link to comment
