dmozzherin 0 Posted May 3, 2005 Very nice negative space in this picture. It is almost as interesting as the subject. Nice sharpness and color. Do you know what kind of oriole is this? Amazing, it is so small but his beak and body are so developed already Link to comment
jlt 0 Posted May 3, 2005 It is a hooded oriole. They migrate to our property evey year in March. They come to nest. The females stay this color. The males are a brilliant yellow. They are very shy birds. Link to comment
jlt 0 Posted May 4, 2005 My husband rescued this baby oriole. Now it is free as a bird. Link to comment
jnicholson 0 Posted May 4, 2005 Hi Jeri, the bottom left corner of this picture is difficult to figure out. What is it that makes the wing fall so quickly out of focus? I agree about the negative space and cheers to you and your husband for rescuing this bird. Thanks. Link to comment
jlt 0 Posted May 4, 2005 Jamie It is the way my husband cupped his hand to hold the bird. Unfortunately my hp 945 lens is limited. The manual focus function is almost worthless. I have a different shot that shows more of the bird but it is not a very good composition. I will upload it in my nature file. Link to comment
jnicholson 0 Posted May 5, 2005 Jeri, thanks for posting the other picture too. It must have been so hard to handle and control this bird without doing any damage. Good for the two of you for caring so much! Link to comment
