patrinus 0 Posted May 3, 2005 Hey, I think this shot has a great potential. I would recommend the following:1) Blur the moon, it doesnt make sence having the moon as sharp as it is.2) Te reflection on the water is too bright, you should soften/burn it a little... I think that with the proper adjustments this can be a killer shot.I have played with the moon myself, take a look at this picture: http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=3233666 here the moon was blured a little and put behind a redish cloud. If you could manage to put your moon behind something (like behind the trees), it turns out to be much more beleivable. Just my 2 cents Link to comment
forrest_andrew 0 Posted May 3, 2005 i'd lose the moon and crop some off the left for a square composition. love the mist coming off the water and the golden hue of the whole image. Link to comment
basil g 0 Posted May 3, 2005 Thank you for your 2 cents :)) Perhaps you are right (I've followed your link). But dimming or blurring the moon would need to burn water splotches accordingly to get total realism and the whole fairy tale dies then :)) Let it stay as is. Perhaps next time - I'll remember your advice and do better. Link to comment
basil g 0 Posted May 3, 2005 You know, I've tried a square composition as the right half overweights the left one with details. But....somehow...left it this way. Link to comment
sasho1 0 Posted May 4, 2005 great athmosphere...is the moon pasted or this is a single shot? Link to comment
basil g 0 Posted May 4, 2005 Pasted of course :)) The moon was shot the same morning 2 hours before the one with the fishermen. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 4, 2005 WOW... there's a great atmosphere here... "overnatural" mood. Perhaps moon and light on reflect does not go perfectly well together but be sure that the effect you wanted to get is well tought. Link to comment

niall_church 0 Posted February 14, 2007 If the moon is pasted then it's not real photography! It's some thing a two yr old could do! It's a fake! and lazy! Niall Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 14, 2007 i like what youve done and even though it may not be "real photography" i doubt a 2yr old could do it. Link to comment
basil g 0 Posted June 8, 2007 Well, I can tell you what becomes worse in your cropping version. 1) the dark mass becomes overweighting in the "darks-lights" balance. 2) the boat track is too short and the boat is too close to the bottom of the pic 3) the center of communication - is not the moon, but the front boat with fishermen (I'm not talking of the 3ds composition rule :) that gets broken then) At least, thanks for trying to enhance the pic. Each person has his own unique view. If you had been in my place then - perhaps we could see a more interesting result. Who knows. Link to comment
