Great shot. I agree that it looks very peaceful. The tree leads you straight to the house and I like the shadows cast over the side of the house.

Beautiful! I love the shading in the sky, also.

The stone texture the building is lovely and I love the gradient of the sky, especially the way it seems to glow behind the dark mountains and then gradually darkens. Lovely B/W shot.

Hello Larry.

This is a very fine B&W image. It is sharp and crisp, and the tonal range is superb.

Regards, Nick.

Add my kudos to the rest, Larry -- this is very nicely done! Sharp, clear, wonderful light and detail, something to see everywhere.... tones are great. Well done!

Larry, very nice shot. I recognized this chapel immediately, having photographed it also, but I was surprised by your title. I believe the correct name is St. Catherine's Chapel located at the St. Malo Retreat. But it is a great shot by any name. Best regards. --Joe

Thank you. When you are wrong you are wrong and I was wrong. I changed the title.

I never forget faces, locations, or anything thats visual. But names are my downfall. They evaporate from my conciousness almost as soon as I hear them. In this case thats a poor excuse as I live less than an hour from this location and have seen it innumerable times. Its the only excuse I have though since I won't fess up to dementia just yet. Thanks again. :)

Just don't try to blame Tim again! :)

I like this. Good choice going black and white, although I haven't seen the color version.

I can't swear to it, but I'm pretty sure the guy who owns the place will forgive you for the name thing! :)

As per usuall, nice photo! 6/6

Thank you Don. I really didn't like this photo in color at all. My family did but I didn't. I feel quite differently about the black and white version however. Its much better IMHO.
