jnicholson 0 Posted May 2, 2005 Kim, do you speak bird or something? You seem to be able to get them to pose just right. Excellent patience. Very nice background and balance (not the bird, your picture). All hail the mighty bird lover. There should be a secret handshake. Regards. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted May 3, 2005 Jamie, bird photography just takes patience and watching what they do and where they usually land. The birds have their "times" during the day when they come around in droves, then other times when nothing comes close, even squirrels (that's when I go inside for my coffee and breakfast). Guest Guest Posted May 3, 2005 Kim, I hate and I mean really hate photos of half naked well muscled men in their late 20's to 40's. ;) Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted May 3, 2005 I know where you're going with that statement, Knicki, but I can't help you! Maybe a post to the forum???? Thanks, Wilson. Link to comment
lgreene 0 Posted May 4, 2005 To find out what the latest uproar was. Bird shots not art? Good grief someone should have told Mr Audubon all those sketches and paintings are just doodles! Nice celebration shot btw. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted June 5, 2005 Thanks for visiting...one of my favorite birds to photograph. Link to comment
sf711 0 Posted September 14, 2007 Cardinals and Bluejays are my favorite backyard birds. This is by far one of the best shots of a cardinal I've ever seen. What is the layering tehnicque you mentioned? Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted September 15, 2007 Sal, you do a duplicate layer, then on that one do Gaussian blur, on about 40, then select "soft light" or "hard light" in the layers palette, depending on which you prefer. Then bring back a little of the under-layer in the eyes and some of the body. It seems to make the red pop more. Link to comment
