afs760bf 0 Posted April 28, 2005 Don't know about the half beast, but the pet shot is nice. I like the highlights and reflections in the eyes. Well-framed, too. Link to comment

ned1 0 Posted April 28, 2005 I've changed my working methods when converting from color to B&W, and the extra work pays off. Instead of simply doing a desaturate or relying on built-in conversion to grey-scale, I'm working by adjusting the white-balance while the image is still in raw-mode until I get the exact tones I want, then converting to grey. I've also been studying zone system and paying more attention to the key tone before I shoot. Still just beginning with zone system, with the ultimate aim being to understand it in an ink-jet/digital setting. Any pointers from others who have gone down this road appreciated. Link to comment
nicholasprice 0 Posted April 28, 2005 Hello Ned. A very successful image! - Your lighting techniques are comming on in leaps and bounds! You are acerting influence, as I am seriously considering breaking with habit, and getting a flash set up! Great Capture, its not just the lighting, the expression on your dog's face is good too! Regards, Nick. Link to comment
