Theme fit: reasonable.

Esthetics: I like it as an abstract, and I like the delicate colors.

Technically: looks OK to me. Perhaps a tad brighter?

Subject: No clue. What is the thing in the bottle?

In all: nice one!

I agree with Tom about brightness. I also think you could crop on the right and go for a symmetrical composition. I like it PT

I too like the idea PT.

Minor fixes would include the afore mentioned crop. Brightening up the edges, and getting rid of the dust speck on the left. It's too late now but I'd like to have the fluid in the bottle level too.

Nice shot PT.

yesterday, I wondered if I was ok- now I wonder if PT is a mad scientist. Yellow fluid in what appears to be a dropper of some sort inserted into a bottle full of liquid- with a slightly cloudy look.

I will fall in line with the others before me. I would like to see it less slanted- as in level. I do like how the tip of the dropper is off kilter due to the refraction from the bottle. (it is refraction, right?)

Brighter would be better but the darker adds a touch of moodiness so I think leaving the darker blue areas dark and lighten the white areas would benefit this shot.

It brings me back to a photo in the Ecocide assignment -- plants in somewhat strange glasses. Maybe, the same PT?

Again some enigmatic chemistry. It's not easy to level it, I mean to make the liquid surface in the bottle strictly parallel to the horizontal borders of the frame, because then the vertical axis is no more parallel to the vertical borders of the frame. I tried some distortions but there's no reason to make another bottle just to fit the theme. From the other hand, "almost parallel" is a theme fit, too.:-)

I like this bottle. It has a pleasing graphic quality, as if somebody has colored a hand-made pencil sketch. Is there any trick or it's due only to the thick and coarsely shaped glass ?

I'd like it better if put in the centre, as suggested above. That involves tighter cropping, what, in turn, is going to reduce the vignetting. I'd try this shot also in stronger light with a polarizer. Regards. Blago

Thanks for the comments everyone; I have taken most of the comments into account and am uploading a newer version here. I am not sure I like the centered version better but wanted to try it out since it seemed like a good idea. I have also made it a bit brighter. As most people have guessed this photograph is a setup. Knicki, you almost outed me/ have blown my PT cover from your kind characterization of PT ;). The "broken" pipette -- due to refraction -- at the interface of the water and air is the crucial message of this photograph -- rest is eye candy. The two halves of the pipette are parallel to each other from certain angle but from other angles they are not ( for example from the top) - you can try it out. This photograph was in part motivated from Toby's comment in this folder that parallel is also a question of perspective (atleast the way I interpreted it :) ). Blagoy, the bottle is just a fancy beverage bottle and the coarseness you observe is due to condensation of water. The yellow colored liquid is saffron water and the liquid is a suspension of blue powder. I hope I addressed everybodys concerns, if not, then please let me know. BTW this PT did not participate in the ecocide folder .

PT I like the idea. I prefer the centered version of the photograph. The brighter version makes it a bit difficult to see the pipette in the liquid.

pipette, that's what it's called. I forgot- been a long time since I played with one of those. I like the brighter whites in the second one but prefer the off centeredness of the main version.

I'm also left wondering what different color combinations would do to the feel of this.

Agree that the exposure of 2nd version is better to my eye, but that the off-centre comp. is the stronger. Subtle image with a delicate feel induced via the diffused soft light and subdued tones; good take on theme PT.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Knicki, in terms of colors I was thinking of green and red as another

one. That probably is not going to be as subtle. Do you have any ideas? I want to take some more photos with this bottle. Also, just to make thinks clear the darker areas at the corners are not due to vigenetting. The backlighting source that I used is not very big so we are really seeing its edges. Didn't intend it but was happy to see it :).

I like your idea PT, Believe it or not I new it was a pipette as soon as I saw it. I like the idea of the blue powder It adds something to the image. Theme fir works nicely. Just a shame that the bottle does not seem symetrical. Apart from that good job.
