mike l 0 Posted April 26, 2005 Nice light on the figure but the background looks a little strange - perhaps you've overdone the effects? Link to comment
j_doyle 0 Posted April 27, 2005 I like this image. There's something mysterious about the girl, her glance. I wonder if her presence would be more powerful if you cropped just over the top of the trees/buildings on the top and on the right cropped at about the right end of the 2nd bridge. Nice work. humayun_rizwan 0 Posted April 27, 2005 Thanks a lot Michael, J and dave for your comments and suggestions. I did give the background some oilpaint effect.. otherwise it was very dull. J, I'm posting the cropped image.. as you suggested. It does look good, but I also liked the reflections of clouds in the river and the depth of the background! You are right there's something about her eyes that draws you towards her.. and she also looked very mature for her age! Thanks once again Link to comment
j_doyle 0 Posted April 28, 2005 Humayun, I'm glad you posted the cropped version. I like it very much...it focuses all the attention on the girl...and she deserves it as there is something compelling about the image you captured of her. Very nice! Regards, J Link to comment

drybrain 0 Posted May 5, 2005 A lovely portrait. Delicate features are very well rendered. i like the fabric too. i am not sure about the background. it does look nice on its own but it creates an impression of a girl standing in fornt of a painting. was that your intention? you were dissatisfied with the original background, but how bad was it? the subject is so well done anyway. the horizont appears slanted (can be coorrected but you may loose more useful image on the left), and it would be nice to see the full curve on the left. was it in the original? thanks for postijng this very interesting portrait. humayun_rizwan 0 Posted May 9, 2005 Well, thats exactly what I thought after I put the oilpaint effect in the background and decided to keep it. I tried the original background but somehow didn't go with it very well. unfortunately the curve on the left is not complete in the original... didn't crop. THANKS once again for this useful feedback Link to comment
antonbar 0 Posted May 9, 2005 Very authentic with great background! (slanted horizon doesn't bother me) Link to comment

sabrina_mueller 0 Posted May 12, 2005 Is this a painting in the background? Nice effect! Now I read that it was done in the digital darkroom. But the effect is the same, and I still like it :-) Link to comment
