alexforsythe 0 Posted April 25, 2005 clearly there's obvious constraints (ya can't just move a planet), but I think the image would be a little more pleasing if the red spot were off center. Also, I'm not sure if my expectations are too high, but it seems a little soft too. The fact the moon and it's shadow are in the image is amazing! Great job overall. Alex Link to comment
dr dan 0 Posted April 25, 2005 I would be thrilled to see such a fine view of Jupiter with anything less than an observatory scope. To take such a shot is extraordinary. Well done. Link to comment
imh 0 Posted April 27, 2005 One of the best images of Jupiter I've seen , Is 1115 images stacked a normal / high / low number for this type of image ? Cheers Ian Link to comment
kentari 0 Posted April 27, 2005 Good work! Around 1000 stacked images is quite normal nowadays, some consider this to be the minimum to get decent results. Personally I don't have experience making this kind of images, but I can tell from first hand experience, this kind of detail is visible in moderate size amateur instruments (12"), it does require a little bit of training and patience to actually see it though.
