Bob Miller has demonstrated his handmade toys for the children and

adults as well for the past twelve years at The Cradle Of Forestry.

This young lady is learning how to spin a top. Comments welcome.

Thanks

Oh man what a great image. It's to bad that the one top on the floor is cut off some, but I think the real focus is on the faces showing the concentration and the interaction between the girl and her (?) grandfather. A great moment...

I think you should have taken one step to the left and crouched down a tiny bit more, so that you would have gotten a bit more face in there...

Thanks for your comments. I started to crop out the top to the left. Do you think that would be better?

Try the crop, yes. You may get an even more intensely dynamic image that way, I bet. Also, it might succeed in balancing out the missing spin-top's point. Or might not. I'll keep an eye out for a reposted version of this because it's so good. Also, I like this one better than the other, though it is nice too. Makes me want to visit that museum the next time I am in North Carolina.

Thanks to all for your comments and advice on this image. I took your suggestions and resubmitted with a tighter crop 4-22-05.
