I would sincerely appreciate once more to receive your critiques and

rating. I realise that this picture is very unusual.........

I try to create photographic images that do not present just an image

as is, Both the lighting and reflectons in silk, together with the

colors is a combination that is untouchable with the bare eye.

and you succeeded! But I think that some details could have been improved (for example the edge of the scarf that wesee). As my english is not very good, I prefer to join a picture to explain.

catchy, but asphixiating and clastraphobic. she looks dead, and cant breath. do it with at least her mouth or nose unhindered and it makes you feel better about the composition. thats just my opinion. but 7's on the imaginative work though.

I'm intrigued by the meaning of this particular image in light of it's title, "Habemus Papa". Hmmmm....Women under wraps? Smothered? Hmmm. Got me thinking. Maybe some others have some thoughts on this. J

My recollection is that the title of the photograph, "Habemus Papam!" traslates to "We have a father!"

As to how the title relates to the image, the viewer probably must consider future political sentiment.

Habemus Papam is what they said on the Fox News Channel yesterday when they found out the new pope had been elected. I am not sure how that and this picture are related.

Very nice, but I would prefer a picture with fewer hard-edged wrinkles. Silk is such a nice fabric and by itself would have considerably smoother transitions on the reflected surface. Maybe, try ironing the fabric before the shoot?

"Habemus Papum" is Latin for "We have a pope" and was part of the announcement of the newly elected pope yesterday. Can't see the connection between title and photo. Nevertheless ...

... I like this photo an awful lot, but agree with the previous post about the fabric. I would love to see this shot with the same fabric, unwrinkled. Would be curious to see what that looks like. This is a great image.

So how to interpret this image as it relates to its title? I'm still at a loss. Anyone have any hypotheses? It's such an odd image to be associated with an announcement that a new Pope has been elected. Still left with a big "Hmmmm". Might the association somehow relate to the supposed arch-conservative stance of the new Pope and his views on women's place in the world, the church, etc.? Perhaps after a while the photographer might tell us what was on his mind. The title does something mysteriously interesting with this photo. I remain intrigued. J

I get the title. Comment is a bit blunt, but so (I understand) was Cardinal Ratsinger. My problem is that this is an interesting photo without the context implied by the title. In general, I find titles other than basic description to be detrimental, implying one specific meaning instead of many.

I was going to make the wrinkle comment too. It doesn't bother me too much in this picture - but I am an anti-wrinkle fanatic when it comes to my own silk studies. I invested in a steamer - ironing is insane (and I'm not sure I could pull it off with silk) - steamer light application eradicates wrinkles - even on a painted muslin backdrop.
