gary_best1 0 Posted April 19, 2005 First post on this site. I was just curious what everyone thinks of this image. It is from a trip I took last fall with my daughter. I hope you all enjoy it. Link to comment
diveniks 0 Posted April 19, 2005 I thought this photo looked familiar so I went looking on Webshots. Lo & behold, there it was. Now, Mr. Best, which one of you "photographers" is the liar/thief??? Link to comment
gary_best1 0 Posted April 19, 2005 John Dunlap, April 18, 2005; 11:07 P.M. I thought this photo looked familiar so I went looking on Webshots. Lo & behold, there it was. Now, Mr. Best, which one of you "photographers" is the liar/thief??? I can assure you Mr. Dunlop I am not the Liar as I have the raw images to prove this shot to be mine to go along with the 400 plus images of the mill I shot that day. Link to comment
gary_best1 0 Posted April 19, 2005 i think you should look more closely at the images you make accusations about Mr Dunlap Link to comment

nikonuserf100 0 Posted April 19, 2005 Very nice. I know this place. I photographed it several years ago while on a Popular Photography photo trek. Yours is a different angle shot than mine, but still very nice (see my folder). Link to comment

jim kerr 0 Posted April 22, 2005 John, While the shots are without a doubt very similar, comparing them side by side, they are not the same one. I doubt if they were even taken the same day, nor were they made from exactly the same spot. Easy mistake to make on what is probably the world's most photographed mill....Jim Link to comment
gary_best1 0 Posted April 22, 2005 Thanks Jim I am happy someone else has noticed that the two images are different. Gary Link to comment
jim kerr 0 Posted April 23, 2005 Gary, I can't help standing up for someone in the right, I should think if John were able to see both original photos side by side he wouldn't have made the comment he did....Both are just plane great photographs....Jim Link to comment
stephaniesaniga 0 Posted August 8, 2009 Sorry you had a bad experience with your very first post. p.n is really an awesome forum, and I hope you give it another chance. The photo is beautiful. Link to comment
michaelseewald 237 Posted August 31, 2010 Actually, the one referenced has a better composition in that it's not 'too tight' on the bottom. They gave it more space. This one feels a bit more cramped, and thought so before I saw the other. Good exposure, soft light always helps as did the haze, adds depth. Link to comment
