arraga 0 Posted April 17, 2005 Liked the balance between the single, complex, and textured garlic head and the many simple, plain and smooth seeds. It's a very good example of balancing a heavy/complex object with many small ones. The colours, muted and in armony are well chosen; almost a B&W film, giving preeminence to composition, form and textures. The light is a bit harsh, and the highlights in the garlic seem overexposed, losing texture detail. I'd try to lower the contrast overall. The shallow DOF doesn't work for me; the out of focus seeds in the foreground are very distracting, and I feel they don?t serve an useful purpose (maybe giving an illusion of continuity; an endless road of seeds?) I'd very much prefer having foreground/center in focus in this shot. Link to comment
