arjen van de merwe 0 Posted April 16, 2005 Nice job. Good composition, good work with the sky. The three cows to the left are a bit messy, but that would be hard to get rid of. Link to comment
minicucci 0 Posted April 16, 2005 Wonderful shot, Matt. Great comp and lighting. Terrific "stare" by the foreground bovine. Well seen and well executed. Link to comment
AaronFalkenberg 0 Posted April 17, 2005 B+W is the only way to go with dairy cows! Nice sky, too. cheers, Aaron Link to comment

w. shinn ii 0 Posted April 17, 2005 Great capture. I like the broad range of contrast. The print reminds me of the Zone system prints of the pre-digital era! The framing and image cropping is as near perfect in my opinion as could me imagined. I like the way you included the cattle on the left from near the horizon running up to the main subject. Inclusion of the background cattle leads your eye to the main subject in the foreground. All this leads me to rate the photograph a 7/7. Great work! Link to comment

peter.corrigan 0 Posted April 19, 2005 Reminds me of that classic Pink Floyd cover, but this one is less psychedelic and has more menace. Perhaps a fitting cover for a remix! Link to comment
matt_c2 0 Posted April 19, 2005 Thanks Pavel, Billiana, and Peter. I've had others mention the Pink Floyd album on another site but had never seen it myself. Well if they want to buy it for the remix I'm sure we can come to some arrangement lol. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted April 23, 2005 Great shot, Matt! The composition is very good with the cows all coming to see what camera you are using and advise on which creative mode to use. I would suggest the contrast in the grass might be heightened as it looks rather dark and uniform. I find desaturating each colour individually and using the 'lightness' slider to get variation can help especially yellow and green in this case.. Link to comment
