blago 0 Posted April 13, 2005 Perfect, Alex ! So human and so funny. He's really doing his best to make her happy. A lot of brilliant details here -- dancing "cheek to forehead" , the way he touches her back, her face asking "Could that be true ?", and so on. He looks like an older Ostap Bender seducing the next madam Gritsatsueva. :-) (I'd increase a little the contrast just to make the picture lighter.) Well-done. Regards. Blago Link to comment
jlcphoto 0 Posted April 13, 2005 excellent B&W. I feel like I already know the subjects b/c you've captured their emotions so well Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 13, 2005 Beautiful natural scene, but I wish their faces were more whiter not so grey! but lovely couple! Link to comment
minicucci 0 Posted April 13, 2005 Wonderful photo. Wonderful expressions. The man's hand on the woman's back is terrific. If the original frame allows, it would be good to give this more room. Just a liittle more light on the faces as well. Link to comment
jeremy freeland 0 Posted April 13, 2005 Great expressions. I agree with everyone else's comments about the dancers, but what caught my eye was the blurred figure of the young woman in the background on the right. There she is with all her youth, but her expression is so much sadder than the two older people who are happily dancing together. Throw in the heart locket round her neck, with all its symbolism, and you have a really interesting counterpoint to the main subject of the image. I think it's a very sympathetic, very sensitive shot. (Like the whitewater portrait by the way ;-) Best, Jeremy. Link to comment
minicucci 0 Posted April 13, 2005 Alex: Also think about an alternate crop that really zeroes in on the dancing couple. Quick example is attached. It does change the flavor of the shot from one of a street fair to a more intimate portrait. Maybe not what you want to do. Link to comment
jlondonphoto 0 Posted April 14, 2005 Absulutely Gorgeous! I too feel that the faces need to be lightened, but oh what a capture! I love the way the depth of field isolates the subjects while remaining inclusive. I've been involved in a discussion on another board where some people are trying to convince others that telephoto lenses are the best for street shooting. I sure wish those photo "snipers" could see this. It's a shame the light colored shoulder on the left wasn't a darker color so it would contrast with the gentleman's hand on her back. But you sure wouldn't want to crop it out. Link to comment
manolis1 0 Posted April 14, 2005 7/7 because....it is obvious. The reason I like your entire portfolio is...You know how to capture in your photos the human sensation. Link to comment
haleh b 0 Posted April 14, 2005 Although there are probably technical issues that could have been handled differently I still find this image to be outstanding. In fact I like the woman in the right side of the image and her bored expression in this composition. She is from a different generation...she would not understand and her presence puts the main characters on the spotlight even more so than they already are. Link to comment
j_doyle 0 Posted April 14, 2005 Great shot! Very emotive, tender and playful. Love his hand on her back, how their hands join. I, too, would like to see their faces lightened a tad which would allow the viewer to see how lovingly she looks at him; their faces are wonderful. I do like the tighter crop offered by Patricia Minicucci which makes it seem even more intimate than it already is. Great job! J Link to comment
dmozzherin 0 Posted April 14, 2005 His right hand tells so much, great capture! I would agree with the previous suggestion of cropping out the girl on the right. Link to comment

armindo_lopes 1 Posted April 15, 2005 Even before reading the title, tango was written on the image, on the couple. An outstanding image. Congrats. Link to comment
saddleboy 0 Posted April 16, 2005 Look like they have done that millions of times and this particular moment, frozen in time, is the exact moment where they remember them all...The finger in her back, so delicate and so gentle brings a touch of erotism !!! Best picture i've seen in a loooong time. Bravo Pascal Link to comment
