Much better than the other with the same model, I think. The colors are great, the jeans and tank glow, which is nice. You have the entire car, plus the top of the crane (love the green of the crane body, by the way), and the smoke from the factory on the left is a great touch. My only nit for this is the hair on the left side (her right) of the model's face. The low detail makes it seems like just a darkish, solid-color mass, if you know what I mean.

Thanks for the critique. I know what you mean about the hair, but I guess that is the price you pay for super high contrast photos.

Critiques/Comments, I know this isn't a "fashion" shot as in

clothing but for some reason it strikes me as more fashion than

portrait. Thanks for your comments.

By the looks of the ratings, I should just stick to posting "pretty pictures" The thought of that makes me sick. Any moron with a tiny bit of photographic experiance can make a pretty picture, try making a statement with a photo, or give it some feeling of movement or attitude.

Hate to state the obvious, but people don't know how to rate. I had to decide a long time ago not to give any credence to how a photo was rated, and I stopped rating photos a long time ago. I think this is a great photo, especially when viewed in the proper context (the calendar, etc.). I can't help but think that I know more about photography than the average person here, and I still didn't know that the lack of detail in the hair was due to the high contrast. My point being, this is a poor learning environment. I don't really post photos anymore, but I'll visit a few portfolios of photographers that I admire from time to time -- you are one of these. I am rambling. Ignore the ratings, David, they mean less than nothing. Take the comments with a grain of salt, and keep up the good work. I enjoy looking at your photos; I have learned things about this art just by visiting your work. Thanks.

While I like the overall color of the shot, I find the oversaturation of your model to be distressing The colors of her face are too red and yellow, and quite frankly make her appear almost jaundiced. Her arms, ankles, and chest are too red. The contrast between her and the remaning photo causes my eyes to fixate on her and I cannot enjoy what the rest of the shot has to offer. I like the idea of the contrast but perhaps would suggest providing the contrast with less reliance on oversaturation. Without her in the picture I think I would have given it a 5/5. I think I see what you were trying to do, but I feel that, in this case, you went too far with over saturating your model. I give it a 3/5

Thanks for the critique AC, I did desaturate her skin before I printed it out. However this being a "graphic" "fantasy" type shot I'm not toatally convinced that skin tone has to be realistic.
