dave_bazzel1 0 Posted October 16, 2001 I am seriously considering entering the summer "Arts and Crafts Festivals" as a Photographer/Artist vendor. I feel that a niche photo portfolio specializing in flower photography would be especially popular with the ladies who comprise the majority of the buyers at such events. I would be very grateful if you would rate and comment on my continually expanding flower portfolio here at Photo.net (currently 5 but will be 20. Also water lilies uploaded later on). This will help me decide which images to spend money on to get a stock of mounted enlargements........ Thanks very much for your time, Dave Bazzel Link to comment
jillmyers 0 Posted October 16, 2001 I feel somewhat offended, but I can't quite put my finger on why. Okay, so you're trying to make a buck. You're trying to aim your work at an easy-to-please crowd of women. Hey, whatever works for you. I do feel, however, that this site consists mainly of users that have a passion for photography and are searching for some constructive criticism of their work and inspiration...not just trying to figure out what "sells". Sorry, just had to share. I hope you get the feedback you're looking for. Link to comment
kevin_kolosky 2 Posted October 16, 2001 I think this site exists for people to use it in the way they see fit so long as they do not hurt anyone. I see no offense in your question. However, having attending many of those events and having done photography for a long time, I believe that most people (women and men) would rather have the real thing than a photograph of the real thing when it comes to flowers. I suspect that you will not sell many. Your photo is of good quality. But there are millions of good quality flower photos out there. Maybe billions. Link to comment
