It took me a while to even see the spider. The light background is way too distracting and the spider is too dark. I'd play with the negative and bring out the spider as the main subjectc. Hiding it in the dark is one interpretation of the image, but I don't like it that way. I think the bug is too cute to hide it.

Personally I love the background. Its the best out of focus rendition I have seen in a long time. The colors of the flower are lovely against it. I do think you could afford to lighten up the spider. But only a little. This is really a dynamite photograph. Top notch all the way. 7/7

What a great shot, didn't notice the spider at first.

Wow, look at that. I didn't notice the spider until someone pointed it out. I think the brightness works perfectly here... you THINK it's just your standard flower shot, but then suddenly, Ah! A spider!
