sef1664877429 0 Posted April 9, 2005 Far too bright, but I really like the composition... maybe try turning you're exposure compensation down a bit. I'm assuming its the shadows on the sand that are throwing the camera's sensor's off... Link to comment
michaelhills 0 Posted April 29, 2005 Excellent idea and composition. I agree that the contrast seems to be blown out (on my monitor). But, it does have that 'sunny' feel to it though :) Interested to know your reason for the placement of the person in the the left of the frame and how this ties in with the buckets. Do you think the pink bucket is too close to the edge or did you do that delibrately to add that sense of 'displacement'? Well executed overall :) M Link to comment
leilani1 0 Posted May 7, 2005 Michael- There were actually three children and the girl in the water was the third. The other two went off to play down the beach. Those were their buckets. It's supposed to be about that old saying "Three's a crowd" and she's supposed to be the left out one. And you are right about the third bucket. Thank you for taking the time out to comment. michaelhills 0 Posted May 8, 2005 Ah, now it becomes very clear. I knew there was a correlation between the 'lonely' girl and the buckets, but could not figure it out ;) By the way, many of your works have this wonderful 'at the beach' feel to the colour treatment and contrast levels. Would be very interested to know what sort of post processing you do to get this effect. Till later, M Link to comment
