I'll just say it. This is an excellent portrait. You really bring out something essential in the woman you are photographing. I sense that she is intelligent, caring and yet quite shewd. I see faces like hers every day in Japan. It is a simple face, unadorned save for the modest pearl earring and the very light lipstick. Yet, I am drawn to this photograph. The image is sharp all around. the black background is a great touch. It really brings out the skin tones.
