olli.pekonen 0 Posted April 5, 2005 A classical walk-towards-me gimmick with 200mm 2.8L. In all, this was the third image in the series of lovely Emma. I think we will be hearing from her in the future... or what do you think?? Link to comment
paul_sokal___dallas__tx 0 Posted April 5, 2005 Wonderful pic Olli. Is that all natural light or did you use a reflector? Link to comment
maria_di_liegro 0 Posted April 6, 2005 She's got one of the most interesting looks I've seen photographed here. Nice shot. Definitely shoot more of her. Link to comment
olli.pekonen 0 Posted April 6, 2005 Hi all, This was shot in an ambient light with one stop over exposure, no reflectors. I knew (having shot there before) that the white building in the back would have made the exposure otherwise too dark. There was a light cloud cover, possibly explaining the soft lighting. michaelx 0 Posted April 6, 2005 Short depth of field keeps me focused on the subject. She's got a weird thing on her chin and ahalf circle on her forehead. Cute smile though. Link to comment
olli.pekonen 0 Posted April 6, 2005 Michael: Another good observation on the odd bumps in the face... they must be some optical or anatomical anomalies caused by walking - her face was quite flawless. Link to comment
a. a. 1 Posted April 6, 2005 Nice subtle colors and good composition. Great hair style for the model since she is beautiful but does't have much edge. Perfect skirt for showing off her nice legs. Nice job over all. Cheers Misha Link to comment
olli.pekonen 0 Posted April 7, 2005 Misha & Alex: Thanks for the feedback. In some aspects, Emma reminded me of a ballet dancer - incredibly agile, very energetic and in a lack of a better word, aristocratic. She was more of a "cute" than "edgy" or "sultry", but I find it positive - today, too much mainstream fashion is done with semi-explicit sexuality. The summer is coming, and opportunities of shooting outdoors (my main environment for fashion) are getting better and better almost by the hour. So stand by for more material! Link to comment
threeleaf 0 Posted April 8, 2005 Olli - another great shot of this lovely model - great natural style and fashion edge 7/6 Link to comment
olli.pekonen 0 Posted April 8, 2005 Thank you, Gerry, for your kind words. With Emma, I more or less "recorded", not "photographed". I think she has a lot of potential in the field of fashion, and considering your talent and experience in that field, I'm sure Emma appreciates your input a lot, too. Link to comment
olli.pekonen 0 Posted April 8, 2005 It's a little bit funny... judging from the feedback and ratings, this is the best of the images in this series, and this was, by a wide margin, the easiest to shoot. I sat down on the Main Cathedral stairs, took my EOS20D with 200/2.8L and kept the shutter clicking. The exposure was set to +1 stop. Well, perhaps this just proves the point that sometimes good pictures are taken in a very easy way. Link to comment
kaurlass 0 Posted August 28, 2005 This is it - she is as she is. Lovely. I have always loved natural shots. Link to comment
