Guest Guest Posted April 5, 2005 Very dramatic! I like this a lot :) How'd you get the sky so dark? Link to comment
mcgarity 0 Posted April 5, 2005 Believe it or not I didn't have to do much to the sky. I did mask it off and used a curve layer on it but the adjustment was fairly moderate. It was a very dark sky that morning with almost total cloud cover. There was a very small break on the horizon for the sun to shine through. This was taken within moments of it coming up. Between five and ten minutes later the sun went behind the clouds and stayed there for the rest of the day. Link to comment

mcgarity 0 Posted April 6, 2005 Emily thank you for your comments. Its not a manipulated or manufactured image. I did levels, contrast, and sharpening adjustments in photoshop. Not much else. Link to comment

liuyuan 0 Posted April 7, 2005 Larry, what a magic light you've captured here! I've always wanted to catch such a magic light cast on the trees against a dark background. Having checked the rest of your portfolio, I believe it's not that you were lucky. Hard work and waiting paid off! That's the way to go. Go out and chase the magic of the nature. I just wonder how it would look if the road at the bottom right corner had played a bigger role in the composition. Link to comment
jnicholson 0 Posted April 8, 2005 Larry, it's one of those moments when you just wish you had your camera. Luckily for all of us, you did. Close your eyes and put yourself in this scene. All of a sudden everything seems okay with the world. Very nice. Link to comment
