jenna_g 0 Posted April 4, 2005 Hi Eugene. The title is actually a Flaming Lips song. I title my photos mainly for self-reference, but off the top of my head could not think of anything for this one. For awhile I pretty much named everything after a song, but it became too difficult to come up with song titles that fit the photo. That said this is one of my recent favorites. I've been converting a lot to B&W, but this one just screamed color. I've been doing lots of window display/reflection stuff as well. Link to comment
paul a. roid 0 Posted April 5, 2005 I like this a lot! the composition of the two faces and the reflection work very well... Link to comment
abargrill 0 Posted April 5, 2005 This photo really got my attention and is one that I will want to look at, again. Good job. Alan Link to comment
jenna_g 0 Posted April 5, 2005 Maria: Jumpy? Probably both. The colors are definitely jumpy. Not sure the title works, but it's jumpy as well. And the girl seems very jumpy! She doesn't look happy. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 6, 2005 Great title and beautiful rendering. Expressions are very nicely captured. Kind regards. Link to comment
doctorbabaguy 0 Posted April 6, 2005 She is jumpy, colors are jumpy, the reflections provide an element of dynamism that resembles jump-cuts that is accentuated by the 1/3-2/3 division of the frame...great disposition of color and object in the frame. 6/6 Link to comment
jenna_g 0 Posted April 7, 2005 Thanks! I took a few more here, but her expression made this one the winner. Link to comment
yeung-seu yoon 0 Posted April 9, 2005 Your photo is great--excellent, interesting composition, and eye-popping color that really works here. P.S New Mexico rocks, I love it. Link to comment
jongaus 0 Posted April 12, 2005 Hi Jenna, you have a lot of good photos here. You obviously have a great sense of color and composition. I specially liked this one. Excellent! Link to comment
jenna_g 0 Posted April 13, 2005 Yeung-Seu: Yes New Mexico is pretty cool! It's really beautiful too even though I'm not doing many landscapes these days. Jon: Thanks! The D70 will give you some vibrant colors if properly exposed. Link to comment
beebe 0 Posted April 19, 2005 You have a great eye and wonderful sense of irony. I was particulary drawn to this shot for the color and irony. I am inspired by the quantity of very high quality shots you have been able to assemble in a short year. You have done a wonderful job getting out there and putting yourself into scenes. The hallmark of a great street photographer. You allow us to view moments of life that are not always "beautiful" but certainly visually appealing and sensitive to the human experience. I completely agree that there are many great photographers on PN but I am still hunting them down. "Beautiful" appears to win over original and intriguing. Thanks, John Link to comment
jenna_g 0 Posted April 20, 2005 Thanks John, Beuatiful gets boring after awhile! The street always fascinates me because you never can anticipate what, or who you night find. Even the seemingly mundane interests me. I also take quite a few window shots as you can end up with some interesting images. On this one the poster immediatly caught my attention and I just waited. When this lady walked to the glass I was ready! Her facial expression was a bonus. There are a lot of interesting photographers here. The best way to find them is by following comments, or looking at the "highest rated photos" of photographers you like. Many no longer participate in the ratings game, so you won't find them through RFC. Link to comment
